In what could be described as a politically charged atmosphere filled with optimism and strategic intent, the Yayi Grassroot Alliance (YGA) held its inaugural meeting with a strong vow to rally unwavering support towards the 2027 gubernatorial ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) in Ogun State.

The event, which attracted an impressive turnout of political stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, and party loyalists, was presided over by the State Coordinator of YGA, Prince Adedapo David Oluwadamilare, who assured members of the alliance that equity, fairness, and justice would guide the sharing of political dividends as the movement gains momentum.

In his stirring address, Prince Adedapo reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the victory of Senator Yayi, describing him as “a visionary leader whose developmental footprints have redefined constituency representation, especially in Ogun East and Ijebu North.” He enumerated several life-impacting projects initiated by Senator Adeola across the three senatorial districts of the state, noting that his contributions to infrastructure, youth empowerment, and social welfare were unprecedented and incontestable. He also paid sterling tributes to Patrons and Matron of the group at the State Level.

The event also served as a platform to commend the tireless efforts of local coordinators, with Hon. Ilesanmi Qamar, the Local Government Coordinator, receiving high praise from the state leadership for his “unshakable dedication, political sagacity, and relentless grassroots mobilization.”

Voices of affirmation echoed from party chieftains who took turns to eulogize the leadership of the Yayi Grassroot Alliance. Notable among them were Hon. Bayo Adeosun, Dr. Ogundeji Olatunji, and Comrade Prince Fesojaiye, who all described the movement as a “game-changer” in Ogun State’s political landscape.

In a remarkable show of solidarity, the leadership of Caucus 7202 also graced the meeting. Speaking on behalf of the caucus, their leader lauded the calibre of attendees and pledged to work closely with YGA, “to ensure full integration into the activities of the central campaign structure and to secure a resounding victory for Senator Yayi come 2027.”

The meeting culminated in renewed zeal, strategic alignments, and a unanimous resolution to consolidate grassroots support, intensify outreach, and amplify the Yayi brand across wards, zones, and local government areas of Ogun State.

With the Yayi Grassroot Alliance officially launched, political watchers believe a new momentum is building that could redefine the shape of the gubernatorial race in the Gateway State
