It was a spectacle of prestige and pageantry on Friday, June 6, 2025, as the celebrated matriarch, Mama Ajoke Ipaye, marked her 85th birthday in an epoch-making ceremony that drew the crème de la crème of Nigerian royalty, politics, and society.
The lavish event, which took place amidst glitz and glamour, saw the convergence of distinguished guests from across the nation, turning what would have been an ordinary birthday celebration into a colossal festival of honour, tradition, and unity.
Gracing the occasion in royal splendour was His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, whose majestic presence added regal weight to the occasion. Also in attendance was Oba Lawrence J. Adebajo, the revered Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, who not only honoured the celebrant with his presence but also pronounced royal blessings, evoking prayers and goodwill that electrified the gathering.
Other prominent monarchs and traditional leaders were also on ground to pay homage and share in the joy of a woman celebrated for her grace, virtue, and enduring legacy.
The ceremony attracted political luminaries, including His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun State and serving senator; Senator Lekan Mustapha, Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi; and Honourable Wale Ogunbanjo. Also present were Otunba Bayo Ogunbanjo, Rep. Joseph Adegbesan, and Mr. Bolaji Odusanya, the Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, among others.
The Gomas family, known for their close ties to the celebrant, also played prominent roles at the well-attended soirée.
In a show of love and admiration, goodwill messages poured in from far and wide. Among them were heartfelt messages from His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, and His Royal Highness, Oba Stephen Adekoya, the Bejeroku of Oke-Agbo Kingdom. Their tributes spoke volumes about Mama Ipaye’s revered status as a woman of strength, generosity, and cultural pride.
