EBUNLOBIRIN FOUNDATION HOSTS GRAND PREMIERE OF “IYALODE BISOYE TEJUOSO” IN ABEOKUTA AMID ROYALTY, STATESMEN, AND CULTURAL ICONS

Abeokuta, Ogun State – History, culture, and cinema will converge in grand style today, Saturday, May 31st, 2025, as the highly anticipated Grand Preview and Review of the epic film “Iyalode Bisoye Tejuoso: A Legacy of Strength” holds at the June 12 Cultural Center, Kuto, Abeokuta, by 3pm.

Spearheading this iconic cultural and historical celebration is the Ebunlobirin Foundation, the main host, sponsor, and financier of the biographical movie, which chronicles the inspiring life and legacy of one of Nigeria’s most formidable matriarchs, the late Iyalode Bisoye Tejuoso.

The event will be chaired by the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON). The Chief Launcher is Senator Ibikunle Amosun (FCA, CON), while the film will be reviewed by Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka.

A constellation of political and cultural dignitaries is expected to grace the red carpet occasion, including:

  • Chief Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State
  • Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (FNSE, FAEng)
  • Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI)
  • Distinguished Senator Saliu Afolabi Shuaib

In what promises to be a regal and majestic affair, royal fathers from across the South-West will be in attendance. Among them are:

  • His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, late Alaafin of Oyo (to be represented)
  • His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Alake of Egbaland
  • His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Adedayo Adewale Tejuoso CON, Osile of Oke Ona Egba
  • His Royal Majesty Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom

Hosted by HRM Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, CON and Princess Adetoun Tejuoso, the event will spotlight the film produced by Eyestar Films and Music Productions, which pays tribute to the strength, courage, and contributions of Iyalode Bisoye Tejuoso in commerce, politics, and traditional leadership in Nigeria.

The film, under the passionate sponsorship of Ebunlobirin Foundation, reflects the Foundation’s commitment to women’s empowerment, historical preservation, and the promotion of Yoruba heritage through powerful storytelling.

This event is expected to draw scholars, filmmakers, cultural custodians, political leaders, and the general public who are passionate about legacy, leadership, and the resilience of women in history.
